Here are the top shooters from the Texas Contingent of the Australia vs Texas " 500 Meter Fly Shoot". We had a total of 34 entries, and despite not being able to see the darn target because of the mirage and coping with "across the paper" push, most everybody had a good time.

Mike did a great job organizing and running this Match. He had a great target crew, everything went off without a hitch.

i would like to encourage all of the shooters in the Area to support Mike's Matches and the Matches held at Walker County and Tomball. We have three Ranges within an hour and a half drive of each other that offer a wide variety of shooting, from Short Range Varmint for Score and Group Shoots to 600 yard Clay Breaks and Fly Shoots.

I had a great time yesterday, even though my shoulder is pretty darned sore from shooting those big 180's out of that 284 all day long.

While we are basking in our glory we also know that if the Aussies had not had 40 mph winds they probably would have beat us like a step child.

Mike, that's Benchrest. You have to shoot into what ever is out there on any given day, or for that matter, any given relay.

We know that next time, we will have to shoot better scores. But that's for tomorrow. For today, just enjoy the moment.
 
Believe me I'm enjoying the win.
I recieved a congratulatory phone call from Australia today.
We are already discussing a format for next year involving Tx and Aus.

I left out the two gun high score.
Richard Pullum had the two gun high score
Danny Barringer second place with Donnel Gaines in third
