You did the correct action. There are too many good shooters here to let one bad apple spoil the barrel. Keep up the good work, both here and at that other job.

Wilbur ...

BRAVO ZULU !!! That's Navy speak for you're doing a great job. Quick, decisive, and bold action is not only warranted but highly respected and appreciated when this site is being repeatedly trashed by a few vandals. Keep up the surveillance. ;)

There's a small caliber web site I hang out at a lot that has had a firm consistent hand on the tiller since it's inception, golly what a fun place it has been over the years. Friendships develop, information is exchanged, fellow posters aren't belittled, great place to hang out. What a concept.
Looks like in the great sea of internet battle zones I've found at least two neutral countries now, great find! Thanks.
I posted to that affect late last night but it went away with all the nastiness as is certainly understandable. I did discover in that thread before it left that Big Al is a fellow Cairn Terrier owner :D and the moderators on this site care about the place, thanks again. There's a lot I can learn here even as a varmint whacker and not a benchrester, it all starts with an accurate rifle.

You're not kidding. Jim Saubier does a great job with a great and informational no BS site. I've had great information from that invaluable resource.

That's affirmative on that one Tim. I know it must be a lot like babysitting 1,500 kids to moderate an open forum. I for one appreciate the effort and the result.
Now if I could just find a few guys with as weird a taste in firearms as I have. Guys that maybe just so happen to have a 1 in 12 twist 6X47 Lapua so I could pick their brain on 65 to 75 grain bullet loads for assorted vermin.
I think I ask too much . Kind of an odd way around the barn I know.

Montdoug, I think it's me you're thinking of that has a Cairn Terrier. If he could speak I'm sure he'd tell anyone that although I may have paid for the adoption, food, and vet, he is not owned by me or anyone else. I thought that beagles were independent until I got him. Like a hog on ice as my dad used to say. :D

Coulda well been you Larry, sorry! Senior moments abound at my house .
If Cairns are anything they are certainly independent huh? I use to raise Airedales and after I retired from work the wife decided I was alone way too much and needed a dog. I researched the smaller Terriers and Gus is what we ended up with, even the web site on em was quite clear "Great big dog in a little bitty package and VERY independent", a lot more so than an Airedale.
He's my shootin bud. Killed his first ground squirrel last year (he's almost 3) and didn't even use a rifle.
Kids, dogs, horses and "truly" accurate rifles, it just don't get much better than that. Actually that's kids and grand kids now :).

Gus sounds like Fergus, my Cairn who's also nearly 3. He caught a rabbit last year. I don't know how, it wasn't speed of foot that did it but maybe speed of mind. Nailed a vole too, and has no use for anything on four legs that's not a dog. Not crazy about the mallards that come into the yard either. He amazes people who don't know him and see him play with Labs, Goldens, and any other larger dog that wants to play.

Larry I just noticed your location, we're neighbors. I live in Bozeman, Gus is from a lady breeder in Missoula.
Sounds like we got the same dog, Gus'll wrestle anything on 4 legs or 2 if ya count Grand Kids.
He does love to go hunting with me. He tried to go down a badger hole last fall, don't know if ole nasty was down there but from the way Gus was growling at the hole I got a hunch he was, Gus didn't care he just wanted a piece of him. Gotta watch em all the time, he thinks he weighs 180lbs instead of 18.

By the way, you guys ever have any bench matches over that way?

Yellowstone Rifle Club has BR matches, varmint and hunter class, and Cody has matches too. My eyesight is getting bad enough that I sold my BR rifle and quit the little BR shooting I was doing. Still shoot, just not competitively.

I'll send you a private message.

Fine looking dogs, but I'm a Chessy man. I stick with them as they are true 100% American bred retrievers. Hard headed, ballsy and never reuse a retrieve. Vary protective of there property, fight at the drop of a hat. All traits I find that are truly American.

I do find the terriers to be fine dogs and love the courage they exhibit.

Sorry Big Al, memory checked out on me, getting use to it actually .
I know it ain't a dog site but dogs and firearms go together like eggs and ham hey? Like Chessys as well, great water dogs, webbed toes if I ain't brain checking again???
Beautiful day today, shoulda been at the range. Waiting for a 6X47 Lapua project to return from the smith, I stink at waiting. Learned the trait from my kids ;).
Ought be turning necks and prepping cases but it's to nice to be inside.
Been enjoying reading back into the archives here, great site!

Thread was whacked because I was critical of Faux News. That's not "moderation." That's CENSORSHIP.
