What happened to benchrest at the Whittington Center?

There has usually been bench rest matches scheduled at the Whittington Center in May, June, July and August. So far I only see one match scheduled for the end of May. Is that it? If so, I guess I could resurrect my Palma rifle and shoot F-Class at the Rocky Mountain Palma in July and the Spirit of America Fullbore in September. Not thrilled at having to lay on my belly again to shoot but I love shooting at the Whittington Center and will not give that up.

There are two matches scheduled at the Whittington Center according to the schedule in the Whittington Centers publication. One in May and the other in August. I asked Mark about it and he said it was the Whittington Center scheduling use of the building for something else.

The dates for the two scheduled matches at the Whittington Center are:

May 27 & 28
August 19 & 20

I would be concerned that if I had to shoot laying on my belly I couldn't find a tall enough bi pod . This really chaps my A_ _ that were getting bumped because they're having cake and ice cream at the Coors Benchers range. There's some serious Heritage getting stepped on here ,,,,somehow.

I just looked at the August schedule and didn't see any benchrest match. I see two Wedding receptions scheduled for the Coors building in June. They're beginning to use the Coors building as meeting center rather than supporting the range. Time to start writing letters and sending emails. They're spending a lot of money to expand the welcome center. they could have used that to build a community center for meetings and such instead.

Whittington Center BR Range

You may not know it but Coors paid the majority of the cost of the range and reloading room when the benchrest shooters, particularly Harold Broughton, were trying to raise the funds to construct the range and loading room.
