What Happened At Ojai?

Ojai? Forget the shooting if Alan Hooker's restaurant is still open. He's probably passed on by now, but maybe his sons are still running the Ranch House? Hock your Light Gun, get a reservation, and prepare for the best food and dining imaginable. (This from someone who doesn't usually gush over food.)

I'd love to. When I was a very young man, I used to drive 3 hours to eat at Alan Hooker's. But now it would be a 4,000 mile round trip, and I'm far older.
For anybody even considering shooting the Ojai matches, add such a meal to the decision. Should tip the scales all the way to *do it.*

Cal. .22x47 Lapua Imp. ( Dave Kiff's ".22 Long Dasher" ) .255" no turn nk.
Action: Wichita 1375
Barrel: Bartlien 1-8.5" 29"
Bullet: Hornady .22 A-Max 80 Vel. 3430
I shot first rely, no wind. Do not ask me to duplicate it !

I type in the 4 categories like this.
Lightgun 3 Tgt Score
Lightgun 3 Tgt Group
Heavygun 3 Tgt Score
Heavygun 3 Tgt Group
I then copy and paste them over again and remove the words "3 Tgt" and add in the words "Single Tgt" in the correct order because I type with only 1 finger.
I then type in
1st Place'
2nd Place
3rd Place
And once again copy and paste them several times in the correct locations.
I then do the 6 Tgt Score Agg and 6 Tgt Group Agg and of course copy and paste them as needed.
If a certain shooter did well like Robert (Bob) Hoppe did at our last match winning most every category I copy and paste his name about 12 times saving my finger.
To get the Match Winner You total up the 4 individual 3 Tgt categories and the lowest total wins.
An example would be-1st in lightgun score 3rd in lightgun group 2nd in heavygun score 4th in heavygun group = 1+ 3 + 2 + 4 = 10
At the Nationals I shot --- 10th 37th 6th and 6th so naturaly I bought a new lightgun so my ligtgun group wouldn't kill me again.
If you try and use the 2 Gun Totals it won't come out right.
Don't worry about the wind.I just read a post saying nobody can read it so it doesn't matter what relay your on.LOLROFLMAO

P.S. I heard a rumor Jerry is going to shoot The Nationals with Iron Sights if he can put a highpower target under his record target.

I have entered several years worth of scores all with one finger.I like shooting I like reloading and I like turning necks as well.
When I was 10 years old I drove a 1946 CJ2A jeep at our hunting club and my reward for picking up all the hunters there dogs and the deer was free ammunition.I would take a case of 16 guage ammo and my Iver Johnson single shot down the field and shoot starlings all day long.
If I lived closer I would do more but working 6 days a week hampers that.
Don't worry about Lou Murdica as he has a tunnel to shoot in and Don practicaly lives there from what I have heard.
Bob Hoppe shot at the September match and took first placwe in every category except one.He in my opinion is the best shooter on the westcoast even if he doesn't yet have a jacket.
On the bullets I got a call from Clay Spencer yesterday and he is backlogged 58,000 bullts due to no jackets from Berger.
The hunting bullets are actually the original benchrest bullets and they shoot better than the match bullets with the new thicker jackets.You have to remember that the thick jackets were done only to keep some bullets from coming apart on there way to the target.If your not blowing up the hunting bullets don't switch.
