what cal in an ar-10 other than 308

If a guy were going to shoot some informal benchrest type shooting and wanted to do it with an ar type rifle, what caliber would be a good choice other than a 308? And who would you have build this gun? Lee

well you can have a ar-10 upper in alot of different calibers. They make them in just about any that you can think of. If I was going to make it in a caliber I would make it in that new 6.8. I dont know how good it does long range but idk of anything that would be a good caliber. There is a friend of mine with a regular ar-15 upper that is chambered in 204ruger for a varmint gun. If I was you I would look at a match upper and lower reciever from stag arms and get a barrel from lilja or company like that. For a trigger I would use jewel. But I have no idea who you would have build the gun besides a gun smith. hope this helps. good luck
 
AR caliber

I'm not that big a fan of the black rifle but if I was going to have one built it would probably be in .260 Rem. or maybe even 6.5 Creedmore. Would also consider the 6.8 SPC.
 
Call GA Percision. They build killer ar-10 uppers and can make a very good recommendation.
