I must say that even as much competition shooting that I've done in years past... This sport is awsome!
I did as much wrong as is humanly possible.
I prepared for the match heavily. Loads worked out, bench setup worked out, equipment in order (or so I thought), mentally prepared, on and on.
I found out first some of the things that I forgot...staple gun, one cleaning solvent...oh yeah, my brain!
I discovered that after my 350 mile trip that my rear bag was lacking enough sand. On warmup day I shot well, equipment was performing well, I was relaxed and I was shooting groups that would have gotten me into the middle of the pack.
Come game day...I did everything wrong except shoot someone elses target.
But... the best thing that I learned is that benchrest shooters are a bunch of really great people.
Thanks to one and all that helped me out and gave me confidence!
Special thanks to Paul Holland and Hobie Bond!
