Fellow Smallbore Competitors:
We are excited to announce that Carl Walther Gmbh and Walther Arms (US) are major sponsors of the 2018 ASSA National Championships to be held July 7-13 at The Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, OH.
Walther Gmbh, founded in 1886 by Carl Walther, is a leading manufacturer of premier match grade rifles and pistols used by top tier competitors to win national and international titles. Based in Ulm, Germany, Walther sporting arms are found on firing lines around the world across multiple disciplines.
A prime example of the Walther product line is the cutting edge design of the KK500 smallbore rifle. Their latest smallbore rifle design for prone and position competitors provides the ultimate combination of a fully adjustable ergonomic stock, advanced action design with a 6 o’clock firing pin coupled to an excellent trigger. Another innovative option offered for the KK500 is an electronic trigger which can be ordered as original equipment with the rifle, or installed as a future upgrade with no need for a gunsmith
As part of their commitment to the ASSA smallbore competitors, Walther is also sponsoring Torben Grimmel, Olympic silver medalist, World Cup Champion and world record holder of the ISU prone event, to attend the prone / F-Class portion of the ASSA Championships. During his visit, Torben will be conducting an interactive discussion on reading conditions during competition. This is a unique opportunity for competitors to have direct access to one of the top prone shooters in the world.
Walther Arms, based in Fort Smith, Arkansas, will be on-site and will be happy to show their products to the competitors, coaches and parents and provide insight on the best options and fit for competitors of all levels. Walther Arms is well versed in the entire Walther product line and provides authorize repair services here in the US by factory certified technicians.
