It was a nice weekend for the match, a little drizzle and sprinkles Saturday morning but cleared on up and was a nice day and Sunday was beautiful. We had 36 shooters, 32 VFS, 2 VH and 2 factory class shooters. At 100 in Vfs Adrian Van Gorder won w 250-23x, Jim (big snake) Wooten was 2nd w 250-23 also and Herb Llewellen was 3rd with 250-22x. Eddie Harren Won VH And Holder Trumbo won Factory( I can't remember the scores on these). At 200 Hal Drake was 1st w 250-11x, Tim Henninger was 2nd w 250-11x also and Adrian Van Gorder was 3rd w 250-10x( I think). Eddie Harren won VH and Wayne Spellman won Factory. In the Grand Tim Henninger won Vfs w 500-31x, Adrian Van Gorder was 2nd and Dick Spencer was 3rd( I think, CRS). Eddie Harren won VH and Holder Trumbo won factory and his son Tommy was 2nd.The conditions were tough but shootable if you had patience and paid attention but it gave you ample opportunity to get caught and a lot of folks took the opportunity when it was offered. There were hard blows with some quick switches that would hurt you bad if you got caught. I would like to thank the folks for coming to shoot and for all the people who helped with the match. Hal and Wayne called the line and Ray scored and entered the stats. Dale Lewis, Kevin and Alex Tolley, Mike Morgan and his Dad and myself ran targets. Thanks to all for your help and Congrats to all who shot well. Steve PS the results should be on IBS website Soon

Thanks to everyone who helped out. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend for a match, with crisp mornings and then 60's and 70's in the afternoons. As Steve said, dropping a point at 200 was pretty easy to do. Heck, I found it was pretty easy to do at 100. Congrats to Tim Henninger for shooting very well on both days, and coming up with the grand...

Yes Steve,

There were plenty of opportunities, to get caught, and I helped myself to several.:( Wayne, Hal and everyone else responsible... Thanks for a great match. I witnessed some good shooters - do some good shooting, and had a good time. Thanks

Dale

I'd like to thank everybody for a good time and all of you making a couple of new shooters feel welcome and offering so much encouragement and help.

Thanks!
Holder Trumbo

Thanks to all who made this match a great success. The crew and facilities were first rate, and it made getting stomped by some great shooters a little more palatable :D.

Everyone went out of their way to make new shooters feel welcome. I hope to get back to Fairfax for another match in the future (maybe I will figure out the range and conditions a little better next time  ).

To The Fairfax Gang

Thanks for a top-notch match and the opportunity to shoot with some of the greatest shooters this sport has to offer. From our first factory match in February to our first big- boy-big- toy match in VFS you guys and girls have always been there to help us and to guide us in the right direction. You have always found the time to offer encouragement and confidence, no matter how well we were shooting. Benchrest shooting is the most competetive sport I know of---but it is also the most unselfish..
Respectfully,
Kevin Tolley

Lightning Jim, you are always welcome here. My very first match was the VA State match a few years ago when Dean Breeden won Shooter of the Year using the gun you now have.
