I was about to buy a new Precision Mathews 12x36" lathe ($2995 delivered) when I saw a 2005 Grizzly G4003 in the paper for sale with extra tooling for $2000. I'll need to pick it up. I'm new to metal lathes, it will have light use by me.
What do I look for in problems a used Grizzly might have? Not sure what would go bad or wear out on this model. It has been used for making hundred's of parts, that's all I know at this point.
Considering it will take a few hundred to get it home, and potential problems, it may not be the wise choice. What do you think?
