This was our first USBR match using our new facilities. In the past we had been using the East and South short ranges with 4 wooden benches each. This match we moved to the new covered Hi Power Firing Line with 20 new Concrete Benches, PA System, Range Cold RED Lights, etc. We constructed 20 new portable Target Frames for this range. We inlayed 20 concrete pavers in the ground to locate the Target Frames.
We are running the 50 Yard USBR Rimfire Match after our 600 Yard F Class Match at 1 PM. After the F Class Match we simply pull the target trailer around and set the Target Frames over the pavers, and in about 5 minutes the Rimfire match is set up. We are running the match a little differently than a regular USBR Match in that we Swapped SEMI-AUTOMATIC CLASS for PLINKER CLASS. We also shoot 2 targets instead of one. We accept the best target for score. In our old Club Match we always shot 2 targets, so we decided to continue doing this. Looks like it is going to work fine.
With 15 entries in January on our first match we will be running 2 Relays shortly. We have several of our 600 yard IBS shooters who have kids and grand kids they are getting 22’s set up for.
Next Match 23 February starting at 1 PM. Come on out early and watch the 600 Yard F Class Match, and have dinner. The Methodist Church Ladies will be cooking lunch on site.
