Having just completed the 2nd anniversary of the Postal Matches, it would be appropriate at this time, to thank and acknowledge the IBS Organisation and the participating clubs and members for their continuing recognition and involvement in this unique International LRBR Competition.

We are indebted to IBS President Mr Jeff Stover and 1000yd BR delegates Mr Lee Fischer and Mr Stanley Taylor for approving the initial concept of this event and for the interest and support they continue to provide.

Without the co-operation and involvement of The Virginia 1000yd BR Club and members, this event would not be viable and could not continue.

Within the Virginia Club, in addition to all the members, special thanks are extended to Mr Willie Williamson, Mr Jeff Walker, Mr Michael Wallace and Mr Jeff Green for the time, patience and effort they have all generously provided in structuring the event and for the compilation and posting of results.

From an Australian perspective, the provision of a dedicated Australian-USA Postal Match page on the Virginia 1000yd BR Club Website is greatly appreciated and has certainly assisted in providing legitimacy for the International Postal Matches.

Additionally, as the only non American based and IBS sanctioned International LRBR competition, most Australian competitors do understand and appreciate the significance of being provided with the opportunity to directly compare their results with those achieved by their counterparts in the USA.

Competitively speaking, the genuine interest that this event has and continues to provide amongst Australian 1000yd BR competitors and sponsors is undeniable.

The principle reason and motivation for the introduction of 1000yd BR at the Murray Bridge Club in South Australia and the Narromine-Dubbo Club in NSW was to provide their members and guests with the opportunity to compete in the International Postal Matches with the USA.

Whether or not they choose to participate, due to the many intrinsic advantages it provides, all Australian shooters should appreciate and be positive in their support for the Postal Match concept.

Given the political and media climate that predominates nowadays, surely it is in the best interests of all, to foster and further develop their International affiliations.

cheers
