Surely this is sad news. Not only the Eastern Region, but entire sport of Benchrest has lost a great friend.

I shot my first group benchrest match at the Hog Roast in 1996. And we have worked with Roye and the entire crew at Fairchance to keep the Hog Roast going. Roye was instrumental in getting the 2013 NBRSA Nationals at Fairchance. And he always wanted to run a class event.

We were fortunate to induct Roye into the Eastern Region Hall of Fame at the 2011 Hog Roast; when Roye was able to accept the tribute that the Region bestowed on him for his hard work and dedication to the sport.

The 2012 Hog Roast is being held the weekend of May 5th and 6th. It would be a fitting tribute to Roye to give the best turn-out at that match to give a strong show of respect.

Roye is in Annette's and my prayers.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows for Roye:

Receive friends at John F Brownfield Funeral Home of Smithfield, Pa . on Sunday from 2 pm to 8 pm and on Monday April 16, 2012 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, when services will be conducted. Thanks for all your concerns and prayers. I'm sure the family really appreciated them.

Thanks from the Fairchance Gun Club.
