Ultimate Benchrest Nationals

The 2016 Ultimate Benchrest Nationals held at Buck Creek KY were the best ever. If I counted right we had 66 shooters competing in the four classes. The weather was warm and humid, about what would you expect for KY in August. Conditions were tricky as always for Buck Creek, but several figured it out. It was two days of the Jr & Garry show as Jr Rigsby took the Grand in Unlimited (510) and Custom(511), with Garry Lawrence picking up the Grand in Modified (506) and Factory (493).

Well...The UBR gang has done it again..another first class national championship match with 67 guns and some of the best shooters in the world there! This was maybe my favorite national level match that I've ever shot.

Buck Creek always has some tricks up its sleeve, and this match was no different. In spite of that, the range, the food, all of those responsible for pulling this off, and most of all..the best group of people anywhere, that made the drive and bested the heat and humidity, are why this game is doing so well. It's an honor and a privilege to know most of these fine folks and to have met some new friends at this event. There are lots of reasons for the success UBR is having, and it's not mysterious in the least as I just mentioned a few causes for its success.

Congrats go to JR Rigsby, Garry Lawrence, as well as the individual agg winners and all those that shot so well! Wow! Just a great weekend! Thanks to all for making it so special and such a good match! I'm glad that I got to be there for it.

Find a UBR match and go shoot it! --Mike
