You know you're dealing with some serious shooters when you get up at 4:45, drive and hour & 15 minutes to the range and when you get there you find a dozen people waiting for you.
We had an excellent turnout Saturday, the best of the season. We had only one shooter who competed in two classes and still had to do three relays. That one, Jr Rigsby, kept up his winning ways and won both Custom and Unlimited Class. I've only seen a 66 shot on one UBR 200 yard target, but Jr shot one yesterday in Unlimited. We had nine scores of 500 or better. Melvin Scott won his first yardage with a 200 yard win in Modified. Richard Alford took the 200 in Unlimited but was creedmored by Jr in the GA.
Rain & thunderstorms had been forecast right up until Saturday morning. It was forecast to rain all day, but in fact, the rain did not show up until midway through the 200 yard match. There were a couple of relays who had a hard time seeing in the rain, but in the end the only issues were some wet targets. We had two rookies, one shared a bench with me (Tom Wood) and shot very well for his first match. I'm thinking he will be back. The other, Brandon Holland, has been to several matches and decided to shoot this one. I expect to see Brandon again as well. We appreciate all our shooters and want more, even though a three relay match makes a long day.
