TRRC Benchrest Match Results April 3rd- 4th - Allen Bench Memorial Trophy Tacoma, WA
On April 3rd and 4th, Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club held their first benchrest match of the year. This contest would determine the winner of the Allen Bench trophy. Saturday was chilly in the morning and warmed up as the clouds lifted. The forecast was for light winds. Conditions were mixed, we did get a few breaks where it was calm and quiet. We began with our light varmint contest at 100 yards on Saturday morning which was won by Steve Kostanich with a .2106" agg. That afternoon at 200, Steve again showed his shooting skills and won the yardage (.2518"). Steve Kostanich won the grand aggregate with an agg of .2312", with Mustafa Bilal and Jeff Lewis tied for second with a .2598" aggregate.
Sunday brought more cold and windy conditions for us. We shot the Heavy Varmint class at 200 yards in the morning. Steve Kostanich shot a .2063" agg. to win the yardage. At 100 yards, Steve again took the yardage with amazing .1760" agg. Steve held on to win the HV grand aggregate (.1912"), with Jeff Lewis in 2nd place (.2292) and Larry Boers in 3rd place(.2356)
Steve Kostanich wins the 2 gun with a .2112" Grand agg. Steve was definitively in the driver's seat the whole match. Congratulations Steve!
Of special note: Match winning groups were shot by Jeff Crose, Mike Zdilar, Larry Boers, Bryan Zolnikov, Musafa Bilal, Mark Walker, Jeff Lewis, Jim Stipe, Larry Muller, Steve Kostanich, Eldon Yarbrough, Lee Whiteley and Dan Kjelland.
