In Alaska we used to call that kind of weather "spring time."

It's an hour before noon and sunny in Mankato, and the air temp alone is -17.

I'm arranging the charcoal already!

Well, you should move to Iceland

At the moment the temperature is about 36-40 Farenheit or 2-4 Celsius. Hovever at this time of the year it is only daylight from about 11 in the morning to about 15 in the afternoon. On the positive side you can shoot benchrest with 36X Leopold 24 hours in June.

We set a record this morning with -44 below actual temp, no wind chill, North Dakota

Iowa

25below this am and tomorrow also. Just like 37 years ago today, when is got married. Around 18 inches of snow on the ground. Last winter's cold and ice was hard on what few pheasants we had, very few around this fall, but this will finish them off. Where is Al Gore when we need his global warming?

I lied

It's 29 below, don't remember it ever being that cold here. My digital thermomer reads OFL, whatever that means. I can't find the papers on it, they got ruined in the flood.

Come on down........................

Come on Don be honest. We're having a cold spell here in central Florida.High today of
62 degrees.I actually had to put a long sleeve shirt on this morning!!! Temp will not be back in the seventies until Sunday. BRRRRR-----

Well we do shoot all year up here too, :) Coyotes,Fox , Jacks and INFORMAL BENCH . But there are a few Rules. 1. NO METAL STOCKS ( the old Tongue and Flagpole thing :p) not pretty at all. 2. The first one to turn BLUE LOSES (Bad Etiquette). 3. Use of a Torch to UNFREEZE your bolt is Forbidden (Saftey Reasons). 4. NO FLAGS (Blowing snow is sufficiant to judge wind). Now why would I give all that up to walk around in SHORTS,get my toes full of SAND and look at women in BIKINIES(no offence to the women shooters out there ;)) Besides if Al Gore IS right Florida is soon to be underwater ,then I would have to move twice:(.I do have freinds in Tampa so maybe a visit wouldn't hurt.:D

you hit the nail on the head. Love it...........

Wednesday Morning we woke up to -35 deg celcius with windchill it was -51. Makes me wonder why any vehicle would want to run in them temps.

I gues that is why Ford has there cold weather testing facility in Thompson Manitoba. It is pretty neat to see.

Actually, this is not much colder than in Minn. or Wis.

I did a temperature conversion on -24 F and came up with -31C.

You are saying -35C. That would be about -26F.

In other words, your coldest is just a couple of percent colder than Wis and Minn.

A couple of days ago we had minus 24 F -- papers said it was the coldest temp recorded here in 13 years.

Some people lost heat because the natural gas pressure fell in the lines -- power company said it was record demand.

At that temperature our furnace -- at our house -- about never stops running.

I had a $335 heating bill last month. Expecting about $550 this month.

We must be crazy to live here. We have already had 4 feet of snow, halfway through the winter. It is snowing now, and snow is expected for the next three days.

Montana

glad YOU have the 4' of snow and not us.

We have not been getting the snows like in the past. I am GLAD I don't own a high priced sled anymore. Just not enough to make it worthwhile anymore.

I remember as a kid being snowed in for days B4 the plows could even get to our farm. My dad worked for the highways and there were times he would ride the snowmobile the 17 miles just to make it to work. That was B4 the days of independent suspensions on the sleds.

Roads would be blocked with 3'-4' high drifts. They even had the heavy artillery plows back in those days the Oshkosh. Loved hearing those run down the roads. I will have to get some video from my dad to put up on Youtube.
