Trim Die Question

I am currently using a redding 6BR trim die. The problem I am having is when I put it in my RCBS rock chucker press and screw it down as far as I can to the last thread in the locking ring. The ram on the press hits the bottom of die and can not push the case in enough to bump the shoulder to where I need them. I have even tried grinding down one of my shell holders and was able to gain a little. But it is still not enough the shoulders are still tight when I chamber them. Just wondering if I am doing something wrong or if the die may just be defective. The only thing I can think of to fix it would be to have someone turn a little off the bottom of the die to shorten it. Any ideas are welcome my next step is to throw it the scrap pile and try another die. Thanks

I have a 222 RCBS trim die that had the same problem in the same brand of press that you have,I traded up a thinner die locking ring that would allow the die to screw down farther toward the shell holder...Overall ,It worked but I just wasnt wild about useing the trim die,i went back to the table monuted trimer...
