Throat length in .284 repeater..

I have been experimenting with the .284 Winchester with an array of hunting bullets.

The COL has to work in a Wyatt CF mag box 3.00"

I have now got 140 Bergers and 140 Nosler Accubonds shooting 2950-3000fps and grouping .3-.5" at 100 yards in a light weight barrel.

I have shot 5 shot groups with Barnes 140 and 150 XXX under .750"

The Scirocco is runing abiout 1.0" 5 shot groups.

Found Re-17 and H4350 to work best so far.

With barrels under 26" and bullets under 150grains H-4831SC has not been the ticket.

I have run loads up in velocity 3000-3100 fps but got pressure issues and no better accuracy.

Lapua brass, Winchester LR Primers, Reloader or Hodgen powders, Berger, Nosler, Barnes, Speer, Hornady, bullets.

Any Thoughts.

Nothing you can do.... the mag box dictates COAL. If you load one at at time, that's another thing. But, you want it as a repeater, correct? I noticed rounds with flattened tips on my 270, so I had to shorten the COAL to the box mag box. Polemer tip bullets could be the answer, unless your throat makes the round longer than 3 inches, does it? And I'm assuming the mag is 3 inches.

I would accept the accuracy you have.
