Thank You

As most of you know, my dad, Dicky passed away last Tuesday night. My family and I would like to thank everyone for the phone calls, e-mails, & cards we have recieved from the Benchrest community.

Thank You,
Dennis Martin

Dennis,

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and shooting with you and your dad when ya'll would make our club matches in Lubbock.

One of my favorite memories of him was one match in particular a few years ago, he was giving Baggett a hard time about his tuner after Larry had complained and cussed when it wouldn't work. He took the decapping base from his wilson neck sizer, and taped it to his barrel using electrical tape a few inches from the muzzle. Then, he told Larry to watch out, he was going to tune his tuner and give him a good whoopin!

He was a great man and will be greatly missed.

Dennis, I did not know of your dad's passing. I first met your dad at a Denton match. He was not familiar with the area. I took him to lunch and showed him where to stay. We were friends thereafter. I will miss him.

I will always remember your dad talking with Jackie's granddaughter at one of the Midland matches. He asked her who Jackie Schmidt was. Said he never heard of him. Jackie's granddaughter let him know in detail who her grandfather was and his accomplishments.

Dennis, I'm so sorry to hear about Dicky. I had no idea until I read your post. I remember him giving us a hard time in that all us benchrest shooters know the good places to eat when we went to the Wall Street Grill in Midland. We'll keep you and your family in our prayers.

Mike

Dennis, I did not know about your dad. He was fun to shoot with, a good friend, and he will be missed.

He could tweek Larry with the best of them and you never knew what he was going to say or do next.

Please check your private messages.
