I am trying to find out when the next benchrest match is in Texas. I live in Houston and am just getting started in it. Any advice would be great and information would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Most all Bench Rest is shut down until after the first of the year/ You can search the various web site of each discipline and see their shooting dates and contact information. You have IR50/50, ARA, ABRA, to search for this info. Good luck with your searchs, and hope to see you at one of our shoots in Boerne, Texas this coming year.

Thanks for the info. I will go check out the sites. You should see me for sure. You are just a couple hours away.

We've had several come over from Houston area, maybe when you meet up the first shoot together you can get together as traveling buddy's. Don't remember theirs names at this time.

We start shooting again the second Saturday in February at Angelina rfile club outside of Lufkin. We are shooting the IR 50 target this coming year. Great bunch of guys very relaxed and fun. We would be glad to have you and it's probably about 2.5 hours away. Good luck . I am from Orange Texas and that's about the closest place to compete then Boerne.

Do you know the classes? Do I need to join the club to participate? How do I sign up for the match?

I don't believe Angelina matches are registered or sanctioned. You might want check with that club before you go as I have heard they tend to use their own rule variations.

The outdoor ARA season is over, the indoor season is just getting started!

We shoot indoors in Louisiana, Arkansas and North Carolina all winter. Check the schedule on the American Rimfire Association web site. There will be a match in LA this weekend. There will be one in AR the following weekend. Come out and shoot with us!
