After deciding that my Bartlein Dasher has served me well for over 2000 rounds, I screwed on my Brux Dasher that is an 8 twist and is 28 inches long. Since I recently received some of Bart's new 105 infinities, a mini-ladder test seemed in order. I chose 2 powder charges with Varget and 4 seating depths with each. I shot each load at 200 yards with 3-shot groups. As many of you know, we have not had much good testing weather in LA lately, but I shot these at about 10:00 AM with heavy mirage and a ~ 8 mph right to left cross wind. The rifle is my old BAT/ Leonard with Valdada 36X BR scope. Here are the results:
32.8 gr. Varget 33.3 Gr. Varget
@Jam 0.719 H @Jam 0.680 H
@.007 off jam 0.574 H @ .007 off 0.402 V
@.012 off jam 0.755 H @ .012 off 0.550 V
@.022 off jam 0.184 V @ .022 off 0.497 V
All were 3-shot groups shot at 200 yards and I did not "hold" to try to keep groups together but watched for similar wind flag position. H= horizontal and V=Vertical I believe that much of the vertical was due to the mirage. James Mock
