TcL is BACK!!

Flying Fish Fundamentals
I am posting this for Jim Knower because he is having trouble getting the BB to take it.

It's true , we got "stuff" from Dick Johnson & have talked to 16 teams that sounded interested . The only major change from past years is that after much thought & consultation we decided to drop the cartridge restriction , which means you can use BR's PPCs 22-250 or whatever . The 10# weight , 2.25" forend , & 6 power scope limit remain as in the past . My name is Jim Knower & my strong right arm is Steve Rosendale . TcL has it"s own e-mail address , TcLcontact@aol.com or my # is 608-792-4368 Steve's is 608-526-4320 . If you have questions or if I missed you with my phone calls please call or e-mail us. Club registration forms are going in the mail shortly so any one I missed calling should call asap. Jim & Steve

Anyone interested in 6X score shooting should give Jim a call.

Trans Continental League

So the rules, more or less, are centered around IBS Varmint Hunter Class instead of the HBR Class.

Sounds like a lot of TcL shooters will be ordering 30BR Barrels.

Up to about 5 years ago, Tomball was in the TcL, maybe we could incorporate it into our Club Matches, since we already are there.

The HBR Guys will not like having to compete against smaller cases, so I am not sure if any will go for it. Where can Igo to get the particulars??......jackie

For specific questions you can call or email to the contacts provided. For general info if you provide an address we would be happy to send the information that we are sending to propective teams.

Thanks for the interest

I suppose it depends:

Some guys are able to shoot very high x count scores with big HBR cases and once fplks get use to that recoil they don't seem to mind it. I have had a couple of 30 BR VH rifles, in fact, I had a new one built last year. It recoils enough to pervent any return to battery so there ain't a whole lot of difference between that and a 30-44, for instance.

Joe Gilbert set the 100 YD VH record back in the late 90's, 250-23 using a 6 PPC. It is told that he had a very close 24th not allowed but then we always hear that, don't we? Of course Al Kogoy JR bested that in the Hunter class with 24. I saw his targets and there was no doubt about any of his shots. The 25't was clearly out.

Bottom line is the bar is pretty high allready and there won't be any panaceia in allowing smaller cases, from what I have experienced over the past 10 or so years. Get it hooked up with a full 308 on any given day when you're loving the BOOM and the exes come to ya. :D

Barrels, it's all about barrels! Ain't it Francis?
