Thanks for the update Bart, it seems their is a lot of use out here that would like to see, maybe the top 25 . I don't understand the Biggest Shoot of the year and we can not get the results with 250 million computers on line. Someone explain this !

Thanks again Bart

I too, like to get the results and appreciate the trouble the guys go to to get them out. I do not want to start a fuss but if you live in Iowa why do you not run over to the Shoot, with your computer, and publish the results as they happen. It is not as easy as it sounds. Most of the people there travel thousands of miles to get there and when the day is over they like to relax, shoot the bull, have an adult beverage or two. Please cut them some slack and as stated earlier if you don't lilke it do something about it...

Guys I'm trying to send a pic with the top 20 results so it can be posted. The Kelbleys are running great match while taking care of the "wants and needs" of 350 shooter. It's like hearding cats! I'll try and do what I can. Jackie get ready I'm sending one to your email. Let me know if you can open it.

Because about the only people that truly care about benchrest is other benchrest shooters. Hate to say it but its pretty much the way it is. Very limited appeal to the general mass of shooters. Its amazing when you compare benchrest to other shooting disciplines like USPSA muiltgun matches that are landing TV air time, sponsored shooters and big money matches. On top of this many guys attending and hosting these matches are not as tech savvy as they are good shooters and getting match info out in real time is pretty much non existent.

can do

All someone would have to do is call from the SS shoot that night ( does not have to be a shooter) give someone the first 25 names and they could post in less than 5 min !!!!!!!!!
No response necessary .......................

It ain't that easy. No easy internet at the range and after the matches you may shoot a bit if you have a problem. You relax with your Buds a little and go eat and it is bed time. We normally have to get up at 5AM.

When I travel to a Nationals or Regional/State Championship sometimes you have to rely on local BR Shooters just to get the essentials. Sleep is the last thing on your mind and the next day seems like 5 minutes away. Multi-day Shoots are an endurance contest.

I'm writing from a glass house simply because I'm supposed to have this kind of information available to you as part of the "unwritten" deal. On the other hand, and "no response necessary", why didn't you set up that phone call in advance yourself? Sounds so easy it's amazing one of those 250 million folks didn't think about it.

If history repeats, George Jr. will send me the complete Super Shoot results and I'll post them here. It won't be immediate (never has) but I'll start badgering him Saturday and when he recovers from the ordeal he'll reply with the results.

One thing else...The posting of results at the Super Shoot is unlike other matches (understatement) and it is difficult at best to find out where you placed much less the top 25. The crowd huddled around the stat sheet doesn't diminish until long after any interest you had is gone. Frankly, knowing the circumstances, I wouldn't ask anybody to make such a list - seven times.

I hate to say it guys but this is the age of the computer. A lot of smoke is being blown! One millisecond after the last score of a match is entered or the agg computed the results could be placed on large screen monitors for there for everyone to see and posted on the internet for every one at home to see. Motives for not A. increase suspence. B keep a larger crown to witness awards.

and you ass-u-me tghat there is such a large screen at the range in N. Lawrence. Get Real! Some things still have to be printed and read. Don't ass-u-me that everyone is electronically instant.

Not Super Shoot / Computer Result Comment

Again, I shot Kelbly's Range in 1977 for the NBRSA 3 Gun Nats. I'm new first full Shoot first Nats first anything. Shooters were telling me benchrest was moving towards the 21st century with the computer, I agree but not sure what they meant.

In 1977 Kebly's was 40 benches, the 77 nats were the first year they were going to use a computer stat system. The computer room was locked to avoid the viewers. Day 1 results did not show up until Day 2. The learning curve was not set up to give the print-out quickly. Day 2 they cooked on that computer, getting Day 1 and Day 2 done together. No problem with results after that for the rest of the week, 154 Shooters for the 3 Gun in 1977.

1977 was the first year of the block loading room, the room that is behind say bench 20. I'm told that loading room is now a storage room among other things.

1977 was the year Harold Broughton won the 3 gun, all the way with a 6x47 Sporter, I loaded the whole week across the bench from Harold.

Congratulations George Carter, Gene Buckys, and Bart Sauter for the great 4 days of shooting.

Doc.
This is "The Kelbly's Show". It gets done when it gets done.
These people put out a lot for the Super Shoot. And They do a Great Job.
I was told. At my first shoot. "You are in George's World" now.
Last year, "Range Master Ian" DQ'd 4 shooters. For safety.
And he had to do it this year.
Not sure how many.
Hope you get the point.
I will be there, next year. For my 3rd year.

The guys that B**** the most have never been to the SS and have not a clue as to what is going on. It ain't as simple as you think. Maybe you can show up next year and handle this for the Kelblys.

That is supposing that everything has been entered correctly and no changes need to be made. It's also supposing that the damn computer is working! If their's works as good as mine, I'd rather use a pencil, sheet of paper, and a calculator!
