I have a Suhl 150 3-p stocked rifle Im shooting in club benchrest matches. I cannot afford a new stock at this time. Im using a hart rest, adjustable top and rear bag.
The butt is cast off (offset) so it will not re-coil straight back. How important is this ?
Also I can remove the cheek piece, is that worth wild ?
Im kinda leaning toward a firm hold ...
Opnions on how best to shoot this rifle as a bench rifle untill I can afford a stock?

Make yourself a 3" glide plate to attach to the forend. Don't worry about the castoff. Just make sure you have the rear bag aligned with the buttstock. Removing the cheekpiece would also be good.
