i ordered a stock from bill shehane in n.c. and when my gunsmith recieved it , it would not fit my stiller diamondback action. i had told bill the diamond back action was the same as a remington 700, so he inletted it for a remington 700, but the dieamond back is much bigger , after research i discovered the preadator action is the same as the 700 action, i feel pretty dumb right now.....or then too....
 
Your gunsmith should be able to do the extra inletting work since the diamond back is larger then its not as though too much was removed but just more needing to be.
Also any void areas that might be too big can be solved when he does the bedding job.
If your smith cant do this you might want to consider another smith.
