St Louis BR Club--first class operation

Thanks to the entire crew of the St Louis BR Club for a great NBRSA Nationals. Scott Pieper did a wonderful job as did the Hoehn's, the target crew and the Arlene Inman crew in the dining room.

They had something for everyone, trigger pulls, hard blows, rainstorms, thunder storms, eggs cooked to order till... Dish TV and WiFi in the evenings even.

They had some battle casualties too, Scott hobbled on a cane for a couple of days (heel spur), Arlene got a ride in a EMT ambulance (kidney stones) and a target crew member went to the hospital also.

There were minor casualties among the shooters too. Loads that wouldn't shoot, guns that didn't tune and such.

Thanks for it all.

Yessir, it was a world class match. JFM (just for me) I'd like to see all the nationals to be there or at the Kelbly range. Both ranges have the best of loading places, camper hookups and food facilities. :)
I hate these desert ranges where sand gets in everything.

Oh, I forgot, the temp was perfect every day. No need to even retune:rolleyes:

Sounds Fantastic!

Sounds Fantastic!
It was. Everything was as good as you could ask. The target crew was great, hosting club was great. Cell phone service with AT&T was pretty poor, but then that's not a problem as it keeps you off the phone and helps keep your mind on your shooting.

It's easy to see how good the conditions were by looking at the match reports on Steve Lee's post. Very seldom do you see many 4 gun aggs in the .2's. The top 57 agged below .3" for a weeks worth of shooting. Pretty phenomenal shooting. It would be interesting to see how the aggs compare to previous nationals. The conditions were the best I've ever seen.

OK Jeff Welker, why don't you try to add something constructive yourself. I started this thread to express my thanks to the St Louis crew.

How do we know Jeff Welker is your real name? Did your post above really add anything worthwhile to the discussion on the Competition Only forum?

I too wish all the members of this forum would use their real name too but many do not.

Were you at the St Louis Nationals? Apparently not since I don't see your name on Steve Lee's thread. Apparently this Wildcatter was from his comments above as he too complimented the St Louis operation.

Posts like yours is why many of the former, real benchrest shooters, don't post here anymore.

Dear Jerry:

I've deleted my original post. You are correct that it was not a constructive addition to this forum.

You are also correct that I was not at the St. Louis Nationals - I wish I could have made it. As a newbie to benchrest, I doubt very seriously that my few posts have any influence on any "real" benchrest shooters posting on this site.

I apologize for distracting from the purpose of your post.

For the record, my real name is in fact Jeff Welker and I live in Mesa, AZ. Ben Avery (one of those desert ranges with all the sand) is my home range and I hope you can come to the Cactus and shoot with us sometime. I'm guessing you probably were at Ben Avery last year for the nationals.

Take care.

Peace and friendship. We were both out of bounds.

I've never been to Ben Avery. Raton is as far West and I've ever been to a gun range, unless you want to count shooting a 90mm and 50mg at Ft. Irwin and Ft. Lewis.

Thanks and good shooting to you.
