I hate to be a pain in the tail, but it's one of the few things I've ever been good at and have maintained my expertise at.
There is NO SUCH THING as a "bullet head". The whole works is a cartridge consisting of a case, primer, powder, and bullet. The bullet is the bit that comes out the barrel (hopefully) and strikes the target (again hopefully).
I've never tried FMJ bullets in a .308, but from experience with them in other rifles I'd say that they'll likely not set the world on fire with superior accuracy. Lapua apparently makes FMJ match bullets that are very good.
If you're looking for bullets for top accuracy in a .308 I'd recommend Sierra, Hornady, Nosler or Lapua match bullets. Various custom bullets are also available for Hunter BR that are excellent in slow twist barrels, but I would imagine that since you're apparently in England you're either interested in fullbore match shooting or hunting, and the average FMJ bullet isn't good for either.

I thought that calling them projectiles was allowed now?
