Something to plunder through

How are the roads in Atlanta today? I'd bet scary enough to stay off the roads.

The slush started early yesterday but didn't leave much accumulation on the streets -- other than slush; by around noon it was sure-enough snowing and by early afternoon the traffic was HORRIBLE -- the whole city must have dismissed at the same time. I lost power overnight and woke up to about 4 ½ of snow. It started melting shortly after noon. The monthly match at River Bend was cancelled, but my wife and I did cobble together a little snowman. :)

My sister lives a little north of Atlanta in one of the suburbs. She and her daughter rolled up a small snowman too. My daughter lives in Avondale Estates and she said that the last time that it snowed there, the traffic was pretty bad. I thought it was a southern thing, but we drove through Denver once when snow was coming down pretty heavily. They didn't drive in it any better than anywhere else.

The trouble now is all these youngsters have 4wd SUV's and think because they can start easy they can atop just as easy. Years ago I had to go to Milwaukee in January for software conferences... Their snow was about like driving on dry pavement.....almost! Thankfully those meetings got moved to Orlando in March.
