Some rules about Benchrest

Benchrest shooting is a precision shooting sport that focuses on accuracy and consistency. However I need help with some of the rules here. Is there an equipment rule that affects how a shooter performs in competitions?

Along with some questions about what safety measures are most important in benchrest shooting to prevent accidents?

Thanks you,

First safety rule is, we do not insert bolt, till told to by range master. Bolt stays out if firearm. The safest way.
Here's a link to the rule book. Read it. It's not that long. I know a guy who did not read the rule book. He screwed himself.
https://www.nbrsa.org/rules-forms/ Look over the NBRSA site.
For a new guy. There is a list of people that will help you. Mentors. Find one near you and call them....https://www.nbrsa.org/regional-mentorship-program/
Some of the nicest people in the world. And despite common disbelief, They will tell you everything.....It's a great sport.

just to be clear this person does not have a profile / presense anywhere on the net except here...spam and or ai

Darnell, Welcome to the wonderful world of benchrest shooting. I couldn't find out where you live so I don't know if you will be shooting under IBS or NBRSA rules. In general the west shoots under NBRSA and the east under IBS. The rules are similar except for some very important rules about bolts in rifles away from the firing line. Good luck and good shooting.
