Is Sinclair International still located in Ft Wayne ? I have a friend who lives close by there who is looking to buy some N-133 without having to pay a Hazmat charge or as I like to call it, UPS charge.

Thanks,

Pete

Pete,
Are you saying "UPS unarmed robbery" ?

I do believe Sinclair moved to Iowa and shares a building with Brownells. They advertise that you can order fromm both and they will ship them together.

Last I heard, UPS is a private business. If I don't like the prices or practices of a private business, I go somewhere else. It's called free enterprise, capitalism, or whatever. Enjoy it while you can. When your Govt takes over UPS and prohibits its "unarmed robbery", you'll yearn for the good old days.

Bill, you are only partially correct. Sinclair's address may still be Ft. Wayne, but that is ONLY a call center. All shipping and all corporate offices are in Montezuma, Iowa. Brownell's bought them lock, stock and barrel a couple of years ago and finalized the consolidation last fall. As much as I am glad to have them in Iowa, I am sad to see them out of Indiana. It was a good place to stop and BS when I was out there on business. And the Montezuma folks are good people, but they are NOT BR folks. A curse on Wharton School of Business!!!!!!!!!!! We are being MBA'd into 3rd world status

AS a side point and not to hijack the thread but I thought private business was capitalism. And that govt buiz was socializm.
I hate UPS for the record but they do have competition Fedex usps and some others. Unfortunately most biz use them.
I prefer fedx or usps.

And I do know that Sinclair's moved because I tried to order something from them at one point and they told me it would be 3-4 weeks before the order could be filled because they were moving but that was some months ago.

FWIW, of late, when I order items from both Sinclair and Brownell's, it comes to me, in one box from Iowa. I don't know if they still have any level of operations left in In. or not.--Mike

If I order Brownells and Sinclair products at the same time, will I be charged one flat rate of $10.50 for shipping?

Free Enterprise has worked SOOO WELL for us we are back to few people having most of the money. Yeah, it works but not for the benefit of the masses. I heard on a radio show that most of the money in America rests in one percent of the population. Let's see ya go find a good middle management job somewhere.

I use to believe in Free Enterprise but quit some time ago. I don't know what might be better but it ain't what we have now. I wonder if we will see here in this country what is going on in Egypt? Woudn't surprise me.

Hi Ray,
I always get my primers from dealers when I am at a shoot, so I never have to use a Unarmed Robbery Fee( Hazmat). Do you know if FexEx and USPS ship primers/powder and if they do, do they charge a "hazmat type fee" ?
Thanks,

WTF thanks again Ken

Dan

I know Fedex does.
I just ordered powder and primers from Powdervalley....it was sent Fedx and yest they charge a $25 hazmat fee.

Great prices at powdervalley.
I paid $168 for an 8 lb jug of 133 and 30 (3?) for a brick of federal primers last week.
Got it in 2 days I think via fedex.
Great guys to deal with and cheaper than anyone else.
I think 1lb bottles of 133 are about $25 or so.

I went to a local gun shop the week before and they wanted $45+ for 1 lb of 133. I told them they were too high. They looked it up and said their cost was $35.
I called them back after ordering from Powdervalley and told them they could order 1 pounders for $25 retail and Powdervalley has wholesale prices for dealers as well.
Whether they call or not I dont know.

Vern,
Thanks for the info. UPS comes by the office 5 days a week and Fedex is here several times a week. The UPS driver told me they have never had a hazmat package cause a problem, it all gets thrown into the same truck like everything else. I think some of the supply houses can ship powder and primers together with one fee. If it's so dangerous that they need to charge a fee, why do they let you ship them together??

Best,
Dan Batko

Powder and primers

Powdervalley shipped my primers and powder together in the same shipment for one fee.
Matter of fact they said the can ship however much will fit into their box for only one fee no matter how many items.
