Sifting Sand

I have tried to research rear bag filling.
I have found a few threads/posts. Some calling for the use of heavy sand some calling for using parakeet gravel and so forth.
For the heavy sand issue can playground sand be sifted and used?
Will the finer sand result in a heavier bag or will using the larger parts?
I dont have access to heavy sand right now and I dont want to pay the $20 plus xtra shipping for it.

IF, I mix it with the parakeet gravel should it be finer sand to mix in better?

Thanks Louis I have read both of those. In the past and again recently.

Vern,

If there is a machine shop around that has a water jet machine, get some of the water jet sand/grit. It's very heavy and works well, it's also pretty cheap, especially if they have the leftover used stuff.

Vern,
Heavy sand is a different mineral than regular sand. It is from a different kind of rock, that weighs more.

Ill take you up on that Jerry thanks.
Have you stopped using heavy sand?

I need to send you an email about parts and tricks for the Chargemaster. I just ordered one.
