...berm today.
Had a few shooting friends come to the unfinished range this morning and try it out. Shot steel and paper out to 600, mostly just playing around and discussin what to do with the range next.
One of the main topics of conversation was what type of matches to hold here. 600 yd benchrest using IBS targets, 550 meter fly shoot, using the Australian targets, 400 yd clay pigeon shoots, etc, etc.??????
Not sure I'm up to the task of having IBS or NBRSA sanctioned matches at this time. If we get enough interest, its something that can be looked at.
Main thing, is there enough shooters interested in 400 to 600 yd benchrest in this area.
Those that would make the trip to Huntsville, Tx, 70 miles north of Houston, to shoot matches at our range, let me know and give me some input on the type of match you would like to see. We can do several a year using the same format and have a shooter of the year or we can have different formats at each match. Would be a lot easier on me if we didnt have too many different match formats.
I do not want to conflict with the Duke's Utopia Shootout or the West Texas shoots at Tad's as I will be at those shoots.
I would also like to host the "Texas vs. Australia Fly Shoot", surely we can kick their butts. Search Canberra Fly Shoot on google
With 12 benches we would have three relays, giving us 36 shooters per match. Surely theres 36 LR benchrest shooters in the eastern half of Texas.
Need to get the Tomball bunch to build some 6.5-284 or 6 Dashers and come play.
Roof goes on next, then build the benches.
