Shooters Fix For The Oil Spill

The spill is predicted to cost billions and billions of dollars and probaly won't recover but a small percentage of the oil.
If the guys in charge would pay $2 a gallon for all oil collectted the fisherman and private boaters could easily pick up several hundred gallons a day.Not bad wages in todays economy.
For the oil that washes ashore or into wildlife preserves they could offer $5 a gallon and restrict the number of people to the first 5,000 in line with no motor boats alowed to prevent mayhem.
You must be 18 years old to work and you would be a private contractor so the 30-50 people lost to drowning wouldn't be allowed to sue.
Any person accumulating a 5000 gallon total would be issued a free fishing license for life payed for by BP.
Any person accumulating 5000 gallons total would be allowed free match fees at Sacramento's monthly 600 or 1000 yard matches excluding national events but this offer only extends to the first 20 people in line.
Total cost would be less than 1,000,000,000 and all of the oil would be collected and turned in.

Lynn,

.get that PPC going and come up to Reno on June 12th and 13th for the Long Range Varmint Nationals and lay out your oil spill plan. It should be real easy for you as we will be shooting 1/2 of the normal for you distance,IE: 300 and 200 yards!..... Jan

Well I think it's an excellent idea.

Really.

Maybe change up the prizes a little, but the concept is sound. :)

Its been almost a month now and nothing has been done at all.If they would pay the locals as I outlined instead of sitting on there brains it would draw in hundreds of thousands of people and turn around the whole economy down there. The oil spill itself isn't the problem its BP not doing anything at all that is causing all the harm.
I watch the evening news with all the locals saying what a disaster its going to be for decades to come but nobody is being payed to remove the oil.
I see 5 guys on an endless beach dressed in bunny suits using a shovel. They get 10 pounds of sand for every 3 ounces of oil and they don't look like they are working up a sweat.
BP needs to get on the ball and pay by the amount collected not by the hour.
