wht can be done to the bolt fase to takeit from 308 to the 222 size bolt face

In general, a spacer is made to reduce the O.D. of the bolt face to fit the new case head. Of course, the extractor comes into play also because the original will likely be too short to grab the smaller case extractor groove. If it was mine, I'd check with Mike Bryant. Mike would be an excellent person to talk with about doing this....he'll probably know the ins and outs of it as regards the DGA's.
