I have just started shooting my new 300 RUM sendero. I would like to get my grouping under a 1 1/2 @ 200 yards. I have been trying different loads using Rutumbo with 200 GRN AB's. groups are poor so far. THe best i have come up with so far is 2 1/2 group with 180 ab's over 90 grn of RE-22.
does anyone have any load that work well in this particular rifle and cal.
Thanks

A skim bed will improve groups.
Adjust trigger to acceptable pull weight.

Can't comment on lighter projectile loads as I've only fired 220/240gr in the 300 Ultra chambering.

I had allready adjusted the trigger down to about 3.5lb. havent tried bedding yet ,Thanks for your help.

Ouch

Remove barrel - cut-off chamber - rechamber to 308 Win.

Just kidding, kinda.... that's an awful lot of recoil to handle. At some point, as you get farther and farther away from cartridge efficiency, accuracy begins to suffer. Throw horrendous recoil on top of that and you get to the point that, finding an accurate load becomes an exercise in futility.(and in pain)

Recoil management (muzzle brake, BIG sissy pad) may help groups.

With the 180g Ballistic tip......

I was shooting an over manual Max load of IMR 7828 with a CCI250 primer and was getting 3/4" groups with nothing done but a trigger job.

Reduce the Recoil for tests

A Caldwell lead sled with 3-4 bags of shot might help, your pushing 35#+ of recoil. When I start loading for a new Cart. I look for data that gives me high (near 100%) load densities usually the slowest powder for a particular bullet. RL 25,N 170,H 869,MRP, AA 8700 is what I would look at in your case.Bullet selection is another choice. My .02 cents anyhow goodluck.......BTW H870 AA8700 and N170 is what I use with my 300 RUM with 200-220 gr. bullets

these loads work for me! Use at your own risk

175Gr. Berger
100Gr. Retumbo
4 inch group at 500yds

210Gr. Berger
95Gr Retumbo
similar to the 175Gr. Bergers, I've never shot 5 shot groups to measure

Remington brass, CCI magnum primers.

My sendero weighs 12.5lbs, weight added in the barrel channel, recoil reducer in the buttstock, leupold varmint extreme scope w/one piece base and a great limbsaver recoil pad.
