Scope Help

I shoot 50 yard rimfire and looking for a scope. I have narrowed it down to two. A Sightron 8x32-56 or Leupold Competition 40x. I cannot see either locally. Can I have some opinions? Thanks.

Sightron and Weaver 36X are the units I use , best bang for the buck and no problem focusing down and below 50y/m ( sometimes it helps to be a bit short to see the mirrage boil)
Leo are nice scopes , lots more out of pocket, do not think it's worth it though for 50y/m, be real sure it can focus slightly below 50 yards, not all of them will, I have several and at 50 yrds they are a bit fuzzy/ blury, They extended focal range units take care of that problem though.
I have trouble with everyone always wanting variable power rigs, as I just call them variable problem units, like to stay with KISS principals. Lot less to get out of wack in fixed unit.
I suppose if you are multitasking the scope/rifle, ok then.
Any way my highly devalued 2 cents worth. Chris

Either are fine for your purpose. If you can stand the additional $ and the slightly higher weight the LCS is a better optic. The glass, side focus, and warranty/ customer service are without equal.

Leupold

If you are going to buy new for an extra $200 you can't beat the Leupold 40x,
it has 1/8th turret adjustments is about 5 oz. lighter than the Sightron which in competition can
make a huge difference.
Other than that they are just about identical, with side focus 30mm tube etc.
the 1/8th click at 50yds. is a big difference!!
Good Luck with whatever you decide.
Pete
