Scope Advice Leupold vs. Nightforce

Looking for input on selecting a scope for longer range, up to 600 yds.

Have looked at the Leupold VX-6 7-42 x 56 MM w/TMOA reticle and the Nightforce Competition 15-55 x 52 with either the FCR-1 or DDR-2 reticle.

My experience with better quality scopes is limited to Leupolds, which I own multiple and have used for high power silhouette, these are old Premier Reticle scopes that have served me well, but no longer available or serviced except to return them to original Leupold configuration.

The above scopes will not be used for silhouette, but shooting off front rests or bipods and rear bags.

Unfortunately there is no where local I can find and look thru these, especially both at the same location.

From a practicality standpoint, price between the two is $280, so that is not the deciding factor.

Have heard and read that the Nightforce glass and clarity if superior to Leupolds and have not found much on the VX-6 7-42 x 56 MM in use at matches (F-class etc.)

Have also haerd that the two are both "repeatable"

Would apprecaite input based on members experience, and while not a bench rest shooter, have gotten the best information and advice from that group (not buttering you guys up either!).

Any input is valued

Think of it as shooting score benchrest on the same target at 600 yds

What I'm after is both accuracy and precision, think of it as shooting 10 shot score benchrest at 600 yds, but on the same target.

At the Cactus a couple of weeks ago I replaced my Leupold 45X with a Nightforce 42X because I could not see the mothball on the targets with the Leupold. The Nightforce 42X was much clearer. I have other Leupold 45X and have not yet checked the one I replaced against those to see if it is a problem with that particular scope. However, I was so happy with the Nightforce 42X that I bought another one a week and a half ago. Mounted it last night and took it to the range this morning to get it dialed in. Still smiling.

Competition Scopes

I have 3 LCS 45 power scopes on a HV,LV and a rail and really like them all. Not 1 problem. Like everything else , eye of the beholder. IMHO
