I have a Schlutz and Larsen Model 70 22 rimfire can someone tell me to how disassemble the bolt also I am getting a lot of misfires with quality ammo what could cause that.

you might want to check the amount of wax on the bullets

James, I haven't taken my bolt apart but there is a screw in the end of the bolt that will most likely get you some kind of results. There may be a cardboard cover over this screw. How accurate is your rifle? Kenny Pond [sicero1@aol.com]

S&L bolt
The S&L bolts are very simple units. The screw at the rear of the bolt unscrews (may require a gun vise to hold the bolt), the firing pin, firing pin spring and possibly a spacer to create tension on the spring are the only parts inside the bolt housing. I have found the bolt housing usually collects a bunch of gunk - depending on how well the previous owners maintained their guns. A general cleaning and oiling should help.
