Savage Model 12 VLP

I've a buddy who works @ Scheel's in Omaha & I've ordered a VLP Single Shot in 22-250 from him. Today, he sent me the following:

The bad news is the Savage we have in our computer is an older model. The good news of the bad news is the new one is an upgrade or an improvement over the last model we had in our computer. Savage no longer produces that rifle the way it used to. We have searched all of our stores trying to find the one you ordered. All of our stores are sold out. We have a couple of options. We can cancel the order and refund your $, or order the new rifle, which they are just now starting the new run of, which could take up to 12 months to get and WILL cost $150-$200 more.

Any comments or suggestions?

Here's one

Gene Sears in El Reno, OK, has one in stock according to their web site. Call them and they will send it to your FFL. They are a vendor so your store can order directly from them if they are willing. They also have the Mod 12 LRPV in 22-250 with both the 1:12 or the 1:9 twist. This RBLP single shot.
