rifle basix triggers

Self installed in a pre-accutrigger Savage 10FP, that was bought new in Aug 2000, and a Ruger mdl 77 MK2 Varmint. Both went well, easy to follow directions, detailed photos, etc. Both triggers at approx. 1.5 lb., and clean, creep free. No problems, and I'm not heavily qualified on mechanical abilities, probably just average.

If you are installing it in a Rem. that has their latest trigger you will need to order it with a safety.
The older Rem. triggers the safety switched over to the Rifle Basix trigger, the new Rem. triggers are completely different on how the safety looks and fits.

Rifle basix triggers

My only aftermarket trigger experience is with Rifle Basix, so I cant be to objective. I replaced a x-mark on my R700 with RB's L-1k.

Replacement was easy and trigger is perfect, no take up, no over travel and breaks at just over 2 pounds. I’ve had it a little over a year with somewhere between 600-700 rounds fire and countless hundreds of dry fires and it is still as tight, reliable and consistent as the day I put it on. With in the next couple months I will be buying another for a different R700.

Rifle Basix

I have three Rifle Basix triggers all on varmint rigs. Very good trigger for the money.

I have the old style Basx from about 3 years ago without the built in safety. I've got it set at a little over 1 lb.

It is on my Rem 700 20Tac rifle. It has the slightest bit of creep. If you are the kind of guy who benches his rifle and is looking for 1/4" groups and take very slooow and deliberate aim, (like I do) then go with the jewel trigger. I'm happy enough with the Basx and am keeping it. But, I just bought a jewel triggera couple of months ago from Brunos for under $200.....it sets up easier, works perfect....and after feeling the difference I will not buy a Basx trigger again except maybe for a carry around sporting rifle. I also have an AR15 Jewell trigger which is very good, but this Jewell Rem 700 trigger is the best!

Basix Triggers

I have two, one on a Rem 700 and another on a Win Mod. 70. Both work fine. The Rem is a 2 oz and the Win is about 12 oz. I had some creep in the 2 oz but one call to Basix and the problem was fixed. The other one was a little problematic. The weight springs were not marked as indicated and a call to Basix resulted in sort of a heated argument with some bozo telling me they were marked and I am sitting there looking at them and they were not marked. Be prepared if that idiot fields your call if you have a problem. Installation on both were a snap, provided you follow the instructions, particularly the Remingon.

I have a Rifle Basix LV 1 trigger on my Rem 700, 6mmBR that I shoot in groundhog matches. Easy installation. Adjusted down to 8 ounces, works fine, no problem.

Hmmm.....reminds me too of the time I called them. While I have never had trouble figuring out my Jewel or other triggers, I just could not understand the Basx instructions and so I called them. I spoke to "Bob" over there to get help with setting up the trigger. (I believe he is the owner.)

I was trying to follow his step-by-step instructions over the phone, and I happened to walk on him while he was explaining. I simply was trying to interupt and halt him from proceeding with the next step until I could successfully finish the last step. Man did he loudly and rudely yell at me over the phone! "Listen to me and do what I'm saying" (And I do mean he "yelled" at me.) It was totally unexpected out of the blue, and I was just shocked! When he was done yelling at me, ( and I was finished being stunned) I asked him very meekly and politely, "Bob, did I get you at a bad time? Would you like me to call you back some other time?" (I really felt like I was dealing with somebody that had personal issues)

Well, he proceeded to finish the phone conversation and assist me to get the trigger properly adjusted. The phone call promptly ended with me saying "Ok, I've got it working fine, thanks", and him hanging up the phone with an abrupt "Allright"....click.

Unlike other products that I would have boycotted for such treatment, some how this episode would not keep me from buying another Basx trigger in the future.....as I really think that "Bob" there is just ill, and can't help himself. (You know, the way we keep watching TV....even though we know that most of the stars are libs that hate guns and blame America for all the world's ills.)
