Remington extended range factory ammo

Remington extended range factory ammo seems to be discontinued but shot very well in a friends rifle.

Would anyone know the components (bullet, powder, charge) that should be used to duplicate the following as I know it:

bullet is called Remingtons extended range boat tail bullet -> 140gr
vel at muzz 2960
energy at muzz 2723

Do you have a caliber??

I would search the net & snag what he can find....I'm sure there are still some boxes to be found.

You should also be able to come close w/ the variety of loading components available.

Your slower powders...

...Like Reloader 22, N165 & 4831 will be your best options for the heavier bullet and getting to the 2900-3000fps with the .270.

Check out some of the newer loading manuals and work your way up watching for pressures. I would pick a bullet best suited for the shooting application needed.

I still say you can find some boxes of that factory ammo with a little time & effort.

Good Luck!!

Remington used the Serria Game King in this ammo. Thats what it says on the few boxes I have left

Chuck.

P.S. Same loading as there match ammo in the 308 & 30-06..

Rem. Ammo

Dennis; I had a friend use that in .270 & his experience was that it wouldn't open on deer-sized animals. Accurate? Great! Kill??? Not happening. Maybe for Elk it'd be a better choice.
