Looking at a single shot 40x .300 win. mag. Stainless barrel, black kevlar stock. Anyone owned / had experience with those guns ?

The closest thing I ever had to that was a 40x Range Master in 25-06 that I bought at a gun show. when I first started shooting. Not knowing any better, I needed it to scavenge the action for a "real" Benchrest Rifle.

Since it was single shot, the long case was of no consequence. It ejected them fine.

Keep in mind, the magnum bolt face will limit you to rebarrling it into anything but a case with a .large magnum rim.

It's just like any 40x. As far as the accuracy of the Machine work, it is no better or worse than any Remington 700.

What are you going to use it for?

I don't believe it has any special value.

If you have never shot a 300 WM they can be nasty. I would rather shoot a .338 WM and I do.

I called Remington . Its a 1991 40-X Kevlar Stock ( KS) with a stainless barrel.

I got to shoot it to test accuracy . With very mediocre bench , I was able to put 10 rounds into an inch at 100 yards without much effort on my part. ( I did it twice)
Was just shooting custom loads that the seller made for the gun sometime ago. Yes , I did feel my shoulder for the next two days. LOL

Condition is very nice. Warne steel rail .

Was kind of thinking of a long range rifle project. Seller wants 1200.00 for the gun . Very temped , but my shoulder did not like it . .....

Possible desirable to some, but not what I would choose for a long range project. A short action magnum receiver leaves a lot to be desired for your project. You will still need to replace the barrel, bed the receiver, and buy a good trigger to have a somewhat accurate rifle.
You can go to Bud's gun and buy a new Remington receiver for $300-$331 which has the new CNC machined receivers with bolt and trigger. https://www.budsgunshop.com/search.php/q/Remington 700/sort/relevance/page/6
Buy a barrel, trigger, and stock and for very little more money You will have a "real" top notch LR rifle for hunting or gongs.

For $1200, buy it. But check to see if the twist rate is what you need for bullets you want to use.

Gun had to shoot 1/2" before leaving the factory.
