Remington In 338 Lapua
I have seen Remington 700's bolts modified to use a 416 Rigby, which shares about the same rim diameter as the big Lapua. There wasn't much left.
But, as long as you can get the extractor to work, it might not be that big of a deal, depending on your perspective. All the nose of the Remington bolt does is contain the extractor, and of course, share part of the "three rings of steel" protection in case of catasrophic failure.
Does Remington offer a chambering in the 700 with a rim larger than the standard Magnum that has been around for years??........jackie
