I plan to purchase a Redding Type S Neck Size die set for my 260 Rem...(I also shoot 7mm-08 and 308). Given that all these calibers utilize the 308 case and that I will be sizing the neck only....can I purchase one Neck Sizer Die (308) with different bushing sizes to accomodate the different neck sizes? Anybody doing this...results?

Give Redding a call at 607-753-3331 and ask for "Jay" in Technical. He is a shooter and extremely knowledgeable about all their products. He can save you a lot of time. They are on Eastern Standard Time. Hope this helps.

Redding told me that their type S dies will work with one caliber up or one caliber down from what the die is marked. You might get by with the 7-08 die and use it with the .260, but it's 2 calibers down in size. The 7-08 would be the die that I would get to try it at any rate. Of course, you'll have to use the non expanding decapping pin keeper that comes with the die instead of the expanding mandrel.

yup

I use a 308 die for .243....there is a ring around the shoulder where the two very different neck dia. vary...but they shoot great and fit the chamber just like they are supposed to.....the "factory" is reluctant to reccomend anything a lil on the experimental (wild) side.....and they want to sell u lots-0-relading dies ......I must admit it would "look better" if I was using a .260 or 7mm die...but hey us poor folks have poor ways.....this info aint from the factory....I am doin it and it works...Roger
