Recycle Barrel's ?

I have one Hart, one Shillen 6PPC barrel for a Hall action. I'm selling the Hall rifle with a 30BR barrel. The buyer has no need for the 6PPC barrels. My other rifle is a Panda. My question is: Can the 6PPC barrels be recycled to fit the Panda, or perhaps used on a varmint rig, and is it worth it? Or should I just turn them into tomato stakes? one has about 500 rnds...the other about 1500.

Well, a re-chamber will cost ya (unless you can do your machine work or a friend will cheaply) and the barrel will be about an inch shorter...... Did either shoot pretty well..??? If you would consider selling the 500rd tube, what would ya want..?...

Actually, you don't absolutely, positively have to cut off the tenon & rechamber. Turn that 1.000 inch tenon down even more & use a sort of helicoil to fit it to the larger Panda receiver. Probably have to move the shoulder back too, but WTH, you're right there when you rethread. You could even do what Gene Beggs did & use a different thread pitch so you could rotate the barrel & try different orientations. A lot of work, though.
 
I have a Hall actioned gun I got a few years ago, it has a 6PPC barrel and shoots real good. The plan was to shoot the 6PPC barrel till it was toast and make it a 30. The bolt head was so small I didn't think it could ever be a 30 BR, I had made up my mind it would be a 30PPC or a 30 Erkel (Col. Billies version of a 30 PPC). How did yours wind up being a 30BR? Does it have a bigger bolt head than normal or have I misjudged the ability to modify it?

JIM BORDEN made it happen.....Shoots PPC and BR cases with no problems
