Recommendation for CO2 benchrest target rifle?

Only interested in match level trigger and accuracy. So far considered the old Crossman Model 84 Match and the Condor Edge. Both could present problems. The Model 84 is rare and I only know one person who has parts and works on them. The Condor has a heavy trigger and stock configuration that I do not care for. Any thoughts other than just "for get it." BTW I only shoot outdoors at the USBR competition.

Might also consider going to a 10 meter gun for the local competition. Already have a Daystate MCT in a Mark Normandin stock that I will be competing with in the PCP over 600 fps class. If it doesn't work out will consider a RAW BM500.

Thanks for your input,

Chuck Smith

It seems like I have read something about the Mac1 USFT being able to shoot with CO2. They are tuned to pretty low pressures for HPA (18FPE around 1200psi), and have long barrels. Might be a little slow on CO2. You could do 12FPE easy.

Might ask Tim if you are interested.

Co2 presents a temperature problem, particularly below 60 degs. has trouble converting from liquid to gas below that point. Also if trying to run a condition the fast firing also causes the same effect. ( loss of stable velocity)That said , in the match rifle types Styer, FWB and Walther all had co2 units out at one time. The 84 by Crossman was innovative and shot pretty well, but as you already noted not much support even less parts wise. Anshultz never marketed a co2 on this side of the pond. These units would all be from the 80's or prior There is also the TAU 200 which is still available in co2 here stateside ( ca version is the 300). It has been a number of years since I shot one but it did leave a favorable impression considering its price point. (CZ mfg). I had a USFT not a bad unit but I never got the accuracy out of it that I was after for BR. I have a Walther Dominator ( not what is currently called the dominator by Umarex/ Walther) and a Anshutz 2025 both preformed better than the usft that I had with the Walther the best of the lot. If you have the set up for 3000 psi Air I would not mess with the co2. If you were to peruse Pilkington"s sight ( target talk) you might find something there. Hope this is of some help.

Match CO2 rifles

Thanks Blades - That has been the most helpful info as yet.
