Range work progressing

Exactly where is this range?

my goal is to have monthly matches, 400 to 600 yd.
I'm not as far along as I had hoped. Won't be able to pour concrete benches till first week of July
 
Mike it is really looking good. I can't wait to make that 8 hour drive for your shoot. We had a tuneup shoot here yesterday to get ready for Utopia. Tymn was not here and it gave the rest of us a shot to win. We may have to chip in and send him somewhere else next time. I may have to go down in one of my canyons and build another range down there to practice for Utopia's shifting wind conditions. See you there and keep up the hard work. Between the three ranges we can now shoot in canyon conditions, howling West Texas wind, and now Piney woods conditions. I did find some magic pills and it is driving Tymn crazy. Will you bring both your son and daughter to Utopia?

Rachel is taking 3 summer classes at college and has two tests that Friday so she won't be able to make it to Utopia.
She practiced with me on Fathers Day with her 243AI and was breaking mini's like a pro. She's looking forward to having matches here at home.
Justin and Tim Beasley will be coming with me, we plan on being at the ranch between 12 and 1 on friday.

Im in Hondo.
What kind of range and/or matches are in Utopia.
Is there a closer Range than New Brunfels for me to practice at?

The Duke family puts on the Utopia Shootout each June. The match is shot at 400 yds. and clay pigeons are the targets.

I guess my first match in Aug will tell the story.

this first match is at 400 yds. The second match will be at 600 yds.

Mike, that is some really impressive work. And it is just 1.5 hours from east Houston.

Since 600 yards is a very popular yardage, I suspect your range will be garnering a lot of support.

There is a 6.5x55 Ackley Improved in my future. ...........jackie

You and the Tomball bunch are welcome to come shoot with us any time. If any of ya'll are coming to the 400 yd match in Aug., ya'll can come practice anytime, just call and tell me what day and time.
Looking forward to seeing your new rifle. Im sure you will be a force to be reckoned with at any yardage.
