It was cool and rainy today, so I decided to work on my latest project, a top for a portable shooting bench. It will have four pipe legs, one with a leveling provision. There is also an extra threaded socket for three legged use, all very heavy duty, fabricated by a friend, several years ago. Tomorrow I will mount the leg sockets, and set it up. I wanted a design that allowed me to sit more behind the gun and not have my chest touch the side of the top. The lumber came from the scrap pile, held together with various lengths of drywall screws, which I have in abundance. So far, the only money that I am going to have to spend is for leg mounting fasteners. The jointery is strictly rustic, but it has no wiggle or flex. Comments?
