King Snake,
I plan to hold airgun matches at Holbrook Sportsmens Club this year. I am the match director and will be holding IR 50/50 Unlimited rimfire matches and will run Air Gun after or at the same time if rules allow?
The new spring gun class can you use scopes? If so any power (scope) restriction? I read the new rules and it is not clear to me if it's still iron sights or scopes are now allowed?
I run indoor benchrest shoots one night a month on our 25 yard range. The two match limit does that include both indoors and outdoors? If I wanted to run Two indoor matches a month and one outdoors is that possible? If I call the indoor range Holbrook1 and the outdoor range Holbrook2 would that work?
I will send in my request for dates when I receive my equipment from Alan Zasandy later this month.

Hello Paul:

Any power scope can be used in springer class. Based on the response from the first iron sight match and my range testing, I decided that iron sights were just to hard to shoot and we had a lot of folks wanting to shoot their springer rifles. So to promote a lower cost venue , especially for new shooters, I dropped the iron sight class and changed it to the Springer class.

I don't have a spring gun myself but hope to find one before the year is out so that I can shoot in all three classes.

As two the number of matches you can shoot: Each club/match director can sanction his club and shoot two matches per month. You can be the match director for both the indoor range and for the outdoor range. Therefore you could shoot 2 matches indoors and 2 matches outdoors for a total of 4 matches. You will need to sanction your club twice , once for the indoor range and once for the outdoor range.

You could shoot even more matches by getting another match director involoved. I will allow a range to be sanctioned twice with a different match director just as we do in ARA . This would be similar to the way we have been shooting ARA for several years now and it has worked out well. I have not addressed this issue in the rulebook for 2008 but will added this information in the 2009 version.
