If you are having virus troubles, please consider ditching your current AV product (after all, it did let this nasty get thru) and pick up a free 30 day trial version of one of the most highly rated AV products available, kaspersky.
I use this free trial version to clean up infected machines for my friends and it does an excellent job.
Product description/download: http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-users/anti-virus/
Enter an email address (even a fake one) and the download button will become functional.
This product is very resource intensive, but is the best I know for removing bugs and cleaning up a computer. The software will nag you so that you know it is a free 30 day trial, but when you are all cleaned up you can uninstall with no problems and go back to whatever product you choose.
Another nice cleanup tool that I run first is ccleaner: http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
This is freeware. Small file size and no nagware. Simply install, then start it up. Top left corner is the "cleaner button", press that one, then go to the bottom and hit "analyze" When the analyze is done, hit "clean". This cleans out the temp files, cookies, and crud that your browser leaves behind.
Next hit the "issues" button, then "analyze" then "clean". Yes to backup the changes, then yes to fix all issues. (Run the issues tool 3X to get a clean scan).
These two will do a nice j ob of cleaning up and improving the performance of your computer (naturally you are doing a hard drive defrag on a monthly basis).
